This award has been developed by this Council as an alternative to the LAAC Training Hike award. Units that feel uneasy about going away from security and safety on training hikes may feel more comfortable by being at a Council Camp where security and safety is available.
CAMP JUBILEE TRAIL
Requirements:
1. Meet all applicable General Requirements.
2. Registered Girl Scouts 11 years and older may earn this award.
3. Submit the following to the Council H.A.T. approval person prior to going on outing:
- Roster and itinerary.
- Pack list, menu and food list, cooking gear list, including group gear.
- Approved camp registration.
- Approved Local Tour Permit.
NOTE: #3a and #3b need not be submitted if an adult member of your group has completed the Basic Backpack Awareness course and so indicates on the Local Tour Permit with the outing leaders HAT Certificate Number.
4. Check in with Ranger or Campmaster and leave a copy of your roster and show Approved Camp Registration and approved Local Tour Permit.
5. Backpack Camp Jubilee High Adventure Trail from parking lot to assigned campsite.
6. Do a good camp or conservation project at least one hour per participant, after setting up your assigned campsite (check with Ranger or Campmaster for approved projects).
7. Backpack Camp Jubilee High Adventure Trail from assigned campsite to parking lot after spending the night in your campsite.
8. Check out with Ranger or Campmaster at end of trip.
9. Keep adequate notes and maps to use in preparing trip report for your unit records.
10. Upon completion of trip, and within a ten (10) day period, see your High Adventure Team approval person for award approval.
11. These SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS shall supersede the General Requirements of there is an area of conflict.
