Intro to Lit Students Performing Hamlet

After graduating from Georgetown University and spending a year as a volunteer in Peru, I began teaching English in 1986 at the high school level and have been teaching literature and composition ever since. From 1988-2002, I directed a federally funded Upward Bound program designed to help low income students advance to four-year colleges and universities. |

During those Upward Bound years, I completed a Masters degree in English and the course work for a Ph.D at the Claremont Graduate University.
Academically, my interests include composition pedagogy, service learning, the role of technology in teaching and learning, Early American, California, Chicano/Latino, and Jazz literatures, and the writings of Mark Twain.
I currently teach English 100, American Literature, American Studies, and Shakespeare Honors. This is my ninth year at MiraCosta. |
