About Me

I received my Master of Arts degree in Teaching English as a Second Language in 1997. While in graduate school at Northern Arizona University, for a class project about community colleges, I discovered MiraCosta, and I told myself, "One day I will work there." Well, as they say, be careful what you wish for! A few months later, I interviewed and was selected for a part-time ESL teaching position in the noncredit ESL program. Teaching at MiraCosta was my destiny!
I have worked at MiraCosta College in the Noncredit ESL program since 1998, and my job is one of my biggest passions. I love languages and cultures, so I have the perfect occupation for me! The greatest thing about teaching English to adult immigrants is that I get to learn every day. We have absolutely the greatest students at this college, and they inspire and motivate me to do my best in my work every day. My goal is to give my students English skills and the confidence to use them to achieve their own educational and career goals. As for my personal life, I am married to an amazing guy, and we have two awesome kids. In my free time, I enjoy long walks, good movies and books, and adventures.
