What - Club IT is a student club sponsored by the MiraCosta CSIT Dept providing an excellent venue for students to gain realistic experience working on customer projects while doing volunteer work.
Why - Many times employers like to see students with relevant CSIT experience prior to obtaining a CSIT related job. This creates a Catch 22 in that students need to have a job / experience to get a job.
The goal of Club IT will be to reach out to the community and assist non-profit companies. Having skills working with customers and being responsible for deliveries is part of the soft skills that employers are looking for. Get ahead of your competition by participating in Club IT.
When - The 1st and 3rd Wednesday's of the month - In Person (OC4803B), optionally via Zoom. 2nd and 4th Wednesday's - In Person optional or Zoom. The 5th Wednesday (if applicable) - No meeting.
