My Class-Specific Materials

The fatal pedagogical error is to throw answers like stones at the heads of those who have not yet asked the questions.
— Paul Tillich (1886 – 1965)

Here you'll find things like my syllabi, course schedules, rubrics, particular assignments, etc. I'm happy to share; just please give credit to the author(s) where appropriate.

I use a learning management system (LMS; also sometimes referred to as a course management system, CMS) extensively in all my courses, regardless of modality. These materials are distributed to students almost exclusively via the LMS. This not only saves time and a lot of paper, but it forces the students to check the LMS frequently or risk suffering the consequences.

Organized by Course

Many materials (such as rubrics, some observing exercises, and most of the "Other" resources) are the same for multiple courses.

All internship courses at MiraCosta are administered by the Career Center. The faculty mentor has very little to do with it unless s/he wishes to change the assignments and grade weights (though some parts are not negotiable since experiential education courses in California are heavily regulated by Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations). Otherwise s/he simply meets with the supervisor as required, makes sure the student intern stays on track, and grades the assignments.

I haven't taught regular physics courses in nearly a decade so there's unfortunately not much here.
